Government Data Requests

Effective: 16 October 2026 Last updated: 16 October 2026

01 Overview

Your data stays yours

This policy explains how Lion Tech Group Pty Ltd, trading as bycaptur.io ("bycaptur.io", "we"), responds when a government agency, police force, regulator or court asks us for information about the people and businesses who use AgencyPro, suiteOS or any other bycaptur.io product.

It covers everything we hold about you, including the data we receive from the social and advertising platforms you connect, such as Meta, Google, LinkedIn and TikTok. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

We hand over personal information only when Australian law compels us to, and only as much as the law requires.

02 When we disclose

Only when the law requires it

We disclose personal information to a public authority only when we are legally compelled to, for example by:

A court order or subpoena

Issued by an Australian court or tribunal with power to require it.

A warrant

A search warrant or other warrant issued under Australian law, usually in connection with the investigation of a crime.

A statutory notice

A notice issued under an Australian law that requires us to produce information, by an agency that holds that power.

We do not disclose personal information in response to an informal or voluntary request, however it is made. We do not give any agency direct or ongoing access to our systems.

Requests from authorities outside Australia must come to us through an Australian legal process, such as a mutual legal assistance request, before we will act on them.

03 How we handle a request

Every request is checked before anything is shared

We check it is lawful

A director reviews every request: who issued it, under which law, whether it is valid and still in force, and whether it actually covers the information asked for. Where the answer is unclear we take legal advice.

We challenge it when it is not

If a request is unlawful, too broad or not properly made, we decline it, ask for it to be narrowed, or contest it through the courts.

We give the minimum

We disclose only the information the order requires, for only the accounts and the period it names. Nothing more is volunteered.

04 Telling our customers

We tell you first where we can

Unless the law or the order forbids it, we tell the affected customer about a request before we disclose anything, so they have the chance to seek their own advice or object. If we are prevented from telling you at the time, we tell you once that restriction ends.

05 Records

Every request is documented

For every request we keep the request itself, who made it, the legal basis relied on, our assessment, what we disclosed or refused and why, and who at bycaptur.io handled it. We keep these records for at least seven years.

06 Emergencies

Serious and imminent threats

The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) allows disclosure without a court order where we reasonably believe it is necessary to lessen or prevent a serious threat to someone's life, health or safety. We would rely on this only in a genuine emergency, disclose only what is needed to address the threat, and record and review the decision in the same way as any other request.
